I am not all that bothered or "offended." Saudi Arabia is in difficult position and part of the problem with bin Laden is stationing of troops there. They could allow fly overs, using air space, and of course, intelligence is far more important to the success of any US military mission. Plus, SA could be very instrumental in infiltrating terrorist cells. All of those are far more important than stationing troops.

I will tell you what really bothers me and which no one has discussed. There has been much focus on prejudice against Arabs or Muslims, and it is certainly a concern demanding attention. But, I have not heard one American Islamic leader publicly state that the members of that community have a patriotic duty to watch carefully and contact the FBI if they perceive any suspicious characters among them. In the past, could you imagine any ethnic community of Americans not hearing a call from their leaders to assist the US government in that manner? On the other hand, it is heartening the government says that there has been a good response by persons fluent in Arabic and Farci volunteering to help. Nevertheless, I have not heard from leadership what I would expect from loyal Americans and it is disturbing, especially since a call for assistance to the government might go a long way towards dispelling suspicion: Condemnation of terrorism alone is insufficient, imho.
