Saudi Prince Says Seven Saudis on FBI List Innocent
By REUTERS

Filed at 12:23 p.m. ET

DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef said in remarks published Sunday that seven Saudis named by the FBI as suspects in the attacks on the United States were innocent.

.....

Many Saudis share the same name, reflecting their common membership of large tribes.

But some who share the same name as the suspects were alarmed to see their own faces staring back at them from newspapers and television networks which published photographs and personal details of the alleged perpetrators.

Your post brings up some very interesting ideas

"Edmond, don't you find it surprising that most of the hijackers were Saudis? I certainly did. I was aware that there was some endemic discontent in Saudi Arabia about Western connections and influence,"

Revolution is a middle class event. History shows that clearly. This may or may not account for Saudi involvement. As the middle class grows in these countries so will the problems, I believe the real question is POWER, and religion is just a guise. The Middle class wants to rule in Saudi land. The Arabs can be the most deceptive people on the face of the earth. So you have to take great care in looking at these events

I traveled a great deal in the Arab world, and watched the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. Modern fundamentalism probably start to rise in 1970 or so,When I came back to the states I took some History courses, and express my concern about the changes I seen taken place. Every great civilization rise on a unique idea.Islam had that, and it is trying to rise again, and people like Osama don't realize that you cannot use the same idea twice.
My Professor {PHD] answered my concerns with this statement " Religion has cease to become a major cause of war" He was a man that never left the US.Spent time in both Iran and Afghanistan among others.

"In the city where I live, we have an important community of Lebanese, for example, and I am afraid of their being harrassed."

When emotion rules... mankind suffers

"I might ask you, have you ever walked into a mosque during prayers and been greeted with muttering and stares of intense hatred? "

Yes I have prayed in many, some of the most beautiful. Islam as a religion is color bind. If you are a non Muslim you are give loving treatment,,they have a great desire to convert you. Always in a willing way . I cry when I think about my experiences in that world.

When emotion rules. mankind will suffer

I enjoy reading you probing posts
