No, I would not draw those parallels between what the CIA has done in U.S. National and Global interest as the same as what Bin Laden is doing. Although we spent years assisting the afgan regimes in an effort to DEFEND their territory in our national interests (we did not want the soviets to acquire a warm water port), we did not encourage them to hijack planes and fly them into the Kremlin. The operative word is to DEFEND their territory. The second point that I would like to make is to draw a fine line of distinction between terrorism and guerrilla warfare which seems to be tossed about here as if they are one in the same. Ideologically and theologically, I don't know that I would necessarily place the seeds of radicallism at the foot of our CIA. If this was indeed the case, they would be terrorizing the Russians, and not us. With respect to the Taliban regime and harboring those responsible for terrorism. There is a significant difference between the actions of India, European Countries, and the United States when compared with the Taliban. They have knowledge of bin Laden's actions, they support what he is doing and they are willing to die defending his cause, otherwise, why not welcome the assistance of other nations or go out and search for him? This is not about sovereignty. This is about the a bunch of wacked out radicals with visions of world domination raising their children to kill yours. V
