shoreco - You are starting to buy the gloom and doom scenario of the charts I published back in April. LOL.
The are only "possible" targets, IMHO, if the market was left to itself.

I am currently eying the horizontal trading channel of 1996.
IMHO, the Fed has largely contributed to the ensuying runup.
Fed can do it again (as long as there still are trees <g>).

One change from April, I discovered the very longtime (1950) support on the SPX to be on a 7% slope, not 8%.

As for today, I don't know if Bearon's is right. But Euro bourses (and US futures) are up.
Relief? (No retaliation this weekend),
Self-fulfilling prophecy? (rebound on the 1998 swing support).
Technical rebound from oversold levels? (eight black candlesticks in a rom on the Dow).
