Now that I think about it, our government would just be practicing good manners if it were silent. And don't we want a good mannered government? At least domestically?

Silence about God at a memorial service? I totally disagree.
It's like playing a tune like "Twinkle twinkle little".....and then just leave it hanging. Silence about God does have a place, but not at a funeral/memorial service.
