The VMS guy? Is he at Microsoft? From your post, I guess it is the case. And you claim he worked with AMD in defining x86-64. Wow. I am speechless.

LOL. I better sell my INTC shares, because David Cutler is supporting AMD's 64-bit architecture, and not Intel's! <gggg>
