Wow, what brilliant reporting!

Special forces set to lead seizure of a temporary base in Afghanistan

Seizure? He doesn't mention what existing base they are going to seize. How does he know its temporary?

US forces usually make contingency
preparations for even small operations
and there may be other attacks after
any assault on Afghanistan.

Those crafty Americans considering contingencies!

Much of this needs to be taken with a
pinch of salt. But it seems certain that
the initial elements – mainly for
reconnaissance – will have gone in a
few days before the assaults

He thinks they might go in ahead of time ...Wow brilliant point number 2!

The first task will be to locate the
targets.

Damn this reporter is good!

If they can, the special forces will
capture or kill the suspects but they will
also be able to report details of their
locations – if they can find them.
Massive US air bombardment can
follow, led by cruise missiles

He means they might not be able too? Dang!
But they will be able to report their locations! Incredible! maybe they will have a $100 GPS from the local sporting goods store! Ok. Massive bombardment can follow....Wow. brilliant point number 3!!!

US forces aim to destroy any capability
of local forces to hit back, hitting at
airfields, communications links and
what little infrastructure remains

Dang! where do they think this stuff up!

The media is going to be driven to ever increasing pathetic "news" stories as this war is not going to be spoon fed. Any DoD chump that leaks is going to get plugged.
I hope.
