Well, Chomsky is a genius in linguistics, and it shows in his writing. He takes 30 possible facts about a situation, and emphasizes 10 of them to create a distorted picture. Of course, since the 10 are true, he escapes being called an outright liar (with the glaring exception of his defense of notorious Holocaust denier Robert Faurisson, in which he claimed, falsely I believe, to be unaware of any anti-semitism on Faurisson's part). Not to mention Chomsky's famous letter stating that merely because a person denies there was a Jewish holocaust, this doesn't make him an antisemite.
