If you don’t understand when I say I grew up in Napa County, 45 miles north of San Francisco.

I question how many of my thread’s friends understand what happened in the North Bay during the military retraction of support since the 40s.

During WWII, my mother was a “Rosie the Refitter” at Mare Inland. My uncle was a welder on Liberty ships and more recently my brother a welder on submarines. Kaiser, made liberty ship that carried the men on D Day. He started the first HMO in the United States to support the liberty ships business.

Mare Inland supported the US during it’s greatest time, even Moffett Field (where I spent 7 years) during the Vietnam War.

Now these military bases are Ghost Towns. What happened to those people living in those town, and their sons.

Just a thought.
