How could someone hold that much hate in his heart without popping like a balloon?

Poet, that post was the first and only support of Falwell's and Robertson's comments I've seen. I'm still not sure where the bright line is with Christian fundamentalists. I found it somewhat comforting to see that it took someone as far out there as he to support Falwell.

I like how 'satirists' have been added to the enemies list. <gg>

Fanatics. They are all the same whether it is religious, political, left, right, whatever. Hate is a very powerful and motivating influence however the hater wishes to characterize it...

Well, it is sad and outrageous. But I think he is just following all the scriptures, rather than being selective. I am sure he is familiar with the admonition to hate your father, mother, family, etc. ...

_____________

The topic of hate got be thinking about that Lennon song: you know...the one where he imagines a world without the divisive hatred of fundamentalist religion. That got me to tapping my own imagination--all in fun, of course.

So I imagined...

--A series of refugee camps established by the world coalition along the Pakistan border and elsewhere.

--The Northern Alliance in (relatively) absolute power in Afghanistan, thanks to American assistance.

--The Taliban essentially expelled from the game.

--The refugees returning to a life under (relative) freedom, to re-build their country.

--An agreement for the N.A. To maintain and to model the moderate arabic position to the world..including a committment to religious tolerance, if not freedom.

--An International coalition to de-mine the country and to establish the infrastructure, in at least one city, to address educational and health needs.

--The largest in the world--an international military/research base in Afghanistan, for the purpose of preventing and combating terrorism...this base/facility to be representative of all countries from the world community.

--This facility to include an international team of scientists and engineers researching measures against chemical, biological, and technological war-fare.

--Being able to find money everywhere I go...on the sidewalk, in the park, under logs, practically everywhere. <g>

Think of him as the American bin Laden.
