I am very sure that the knowledge of the impending attack on the WTC was widespread. Terrorists first start their activities in places of worship such as the mosques, temples etc. They get entrenched there and take advantage of the piety and holiness of the people who visit such places of worship. Since places of worship become terrorists dens, it is possible, the knowledge becomes widespread.

If the lady's story is true, it would be interesting to determine if the couple who disappeared were frequenters to a place of worship. None the same I doubt the story since nobody would go for tea or coffee to someone's house without knowing some more about the host. It is very likely a rumor.
