Frank, my market timing obviously is for the very long term, as I do not believe the typical technical analysis used by perhaps a majority of investors (not to the exclusion of fundamental analysis) is theoretically sound. My son, however, has come up with quite a sophisticated method of short term trading, based on mathematical concepts well tested in other areas than investing. His automatic buy and sell test models average about a one percent gain per day. Heck, I might end up a short term trader yet, but I would not be tied to the error prone trend analysis used by most short term traders. Art
