I don't think a comparison between Newsmax and the NYT is at all valid; they occupy wildly different points on the spectrum. The Nation might be as far left as Newsmax is right; I don't really know because I don't read it. The greatest error possible is looking for news sources with which you usually agree, and sticking to them. Much better to look for something reasonably sober and reasonably serious, but with a slant markedly different from your own. That's much more likely to provide a challenge and make you think. Where do you get your news?
