<Saudi Binladin Group is also a partner in the Iridium Project which will ultimately provide mobile phone users with a global communication facility. >

Osama was reported to have used a satellite phone [until he decided that it gave information on his position and perhaps conversation to the NSA]. Presumably it was an Iridium phone. Globalstar doesn't cover Afghanistan [on the official coverage maps anyway though it might be that the Saudi gateway does provide coverage there to users they approve].

I don't believe that Osama has been cut off from his family. I think it's all part of a strategy to take over Saudi Arabia and lead an Islamic Revolution.

I have no idea whether Saddam and Egypt would be in favour of that. Maybe the USA and Saddam will once again be buddies to secure the oil fields of Saudi Arabia from Islamic Jihadists who would prefer to disrupt the oil in an economic suicide mission. Religious mania and revolution does better in turbulence than in peace and in economic disasters than during prosperity.

This is so much like the shifting sands of kingdoms, allegiances, alliances plots and wars of Europe over the past few hundred years. Perhaps there will be an Arabic 'shot heard around the world' and the equivalent of the first world war will be played out across the middle east.
