JC: It's too bad that the integrated video came in below expectations, though.

Significantly below expectations, I'd say.

Two points:

» ATI has every chance of matching NVIDIA's performance with their own integrated chipset.
» XBox… Hope there are some major differences in the integrated video (uses GF3 instead of GF2, no?)

JC,

What a surprise. It didn't categorically blow away all the competition. Like we didn't see this coming from a mile away.

Still, I'm happy that it can match the VIA KT266A in performance, and I hope that further BIOS and driver optimizations can raise the bar beyond
that.

It's too bad that the integrated video came in below expectations, though.

Pretty much my thoughts, also. Not bad for a first try. Looking forward to their next rev.

Pravin.

The Audio is quite impressive though anandtech.com

I've very satisfied with the results considering this is nVidia's 1st stab at this.

RE:"It's too bad that the integrated video came in below expectations, though."

Why? Can't access dual channel DDR, lack of bandwidth...?
Something ain't right here...
As for KT266a...heck that's more hype than nForce right now.
VIA slipped in in just before nForce...took some of the thunder away from nForce. Reminds me of an Intel tactic. <G>

JC, Re: "It's too bad that the [nForce] integrated video came in below expectations, though."

I wonder how it compares to the other integrated video options? I may be in a position to do some testing on an SiS 730 (?) and a KM133A systems but I don't have a lot of gaming benchmarks. If I get the time, I will try to find one comparable to what Anand ran.

EDIT: Of course, the nForce boards will likely be more expensive. Will look up boards and current pricing if/when I do the comparison.
