Hi RTS,

people are really really reading this war on terrorism wrong way. I spent much of time thinking about the ramifications or the way this war had to be fought. IMHO this war will actually advance the communication and technology sector more than anything. I am very comfortable holding onto the long positions I bought and will continue to buy. Anyone shorting SOX at 400 and holding will be really sorry if they continue to hold the position into next year. BTW, I think we now have all the pieces (fundamental... I don't use technicals for any long term prediction because they all behave as a herd) in place for a NAS 3500-4000 next year.

Later,

Suresh

Just an interesting observation here. On the weekly chart of NDX, I am noticing a RSI divergence. Needless to say we broke the March/April lows on price, but RSI is registering a higher low. These are kind of signals one needs to find a substantive low. The same can't be said for other major indices though. none.

These look decent for the day (duh) and perhaps a bit tomorrow but I wouldn't get too carried away. The one thing here that I really like to see is the VIX coming down significantly, suggesting we might have hit bottom last week. I'm still pretty cautious here, but we're giving some of our trading ideas last week another run... Short to open Oct 1150-1050 $NDX.X put spread, Short to open Oct 975-930 $SPX.X put spread.

COMPX and SOX are signals now flat. Technicals are indicating that one should exit short term trading positions. The technicals are distorted those after last weeks sell off.

From a practical perspective there is no hurry to do much. If the market has returned to normal we will rally for 3 days. If not then no one knows what direction the indices will go. If this is the low it will be re-tested again in a few weeks.
