BTW, The Taliban's position has been (even before 9/11) that if you provide reasonable proof of his crime and assure that he will be tried in neutral country with at least one judged versed in the Islamic law, then we'll hand him over.

Try him in the Hague??? That would be a good idea except that they do not use the death penalty and most Americans want to see the color of his blood. It would have to be something like try him in the US and have the death penalty carried out in Saudi Arabia.

Here is a bit of math to play with. A cruise missile costs about $2,000,000 and $2M will buy about 10,000,000 pounds of rice at $.20 a pound. Ten million pounds will feed 10 million people for a day (at a rate of a pound a day). My point being that feeding hungry people is a lot cheaper than defending yourself against them. Rice is far cheaper weapon than waging war.
