Within a few weeks of each other. The peaks and troughs of AMAT correspond to the peaks and troughs of the SOX. During this bear market, the short-term trend has been the same for both of them, almost all the time. That is, when the SOX is making a bear market rally, it is a sure thing that AMAT is also (or will be, soon). And, when the main trend (down) gets re-established for the SOX, it is a sure thing that AMAT is also. Anything that looks otherwise is just noise in the signal, a (very shortterm) countertrend that will be negated quickly.
