Could you amplify... Yes, I know that the majority of land in Israel is government owned.

But I was referring to the original Yishuv, where my understanding is that the majority of this land was directly purchased with proper deed and title from the original owners, either personally, or through the Jewish national fund...

Again, this is pre-1948 that I'm referring to, not the territory captured and occupied after the war of independence.
