tippet earlier I brought up the issue of lower energy prices, then I started some arithmetic in my head.

By many estimates around 65 to 70 million barrels of oil are produced daily, Average price of oil last year was some were around $28. Now let's assume it drops to around today prices of $22 that is around $6 x 70 million a day or $420 million a day in savings or $153 billion a year.

I think that crude oil represents around 25% to 30% of fossil energy (coal, natural gas etc.) which will bring the total amount in the range of $500 billion in world wide savings. I am not sure how much of this amount is consumed in the Western World, but those $500 billion a year should add to something.

Now many would claim that it is a zero game as the energy producing countries and entities have less income ........ my counter to that is that the consuming economies will profit most ...... e.g. between them the US.
