If you were a little skeptical of what you read in the press (and I showed you some other examples of their objectivity) then you might realize that "suspected ties" doesn't mean sleepers terrorists with stinger missles. They are people that, for some reason, the FBI wants to interview. Most are being held on visa expirations, a terrorist worth his salt would keep his visa up to date. 1000 "sleeper" terrorists is a perfect urban myth. And you are the perfect person to invent and spread the myth. So you recommend everyone hunker down and hide, and conserve cash by not going out to dinner or buying stuff or taking airplanes (though you stay in the market). What will be your advice when the layoffs reach every household, when all equity classes crash in price? Will you feel safe then? Give me the odds... what's my chance of being killed by a terrorist? Tim, I think one point that notable is: the exact number of 1,000 or 993 or 372 sleepers is not of great importance. Just the fact that there are sleepers on American soil presently is enough to suffice. After all, only 20 or so were enough for the first attack. The terrorists won't launch the second wave until the first attack by the American forces. Then as you've mentioned, the second attack will come in a very different form. Quite possibly carried out by a group of only 2 or 3 "sleepers"(not hundreds). I fear for any famous American icon shortly after the first American attack , but before then there will be resounding silence. And yes you're words about the 2nd and 3rd wave are true. Thanks for taking your time to post your thoughts. I believe you've delved into the scenarios a lot deeper than most North Americans(many others on SI do likewise).
