On Friday I expected a very big rally today that would possibly last till the close of tomorrow. So I went long on a whole bunch of high beta stocks that I would not regret if I was wrong. That said, I started shorting stocks as of 2:30. You can put me in the camp of "by 2nd week of October we'll be 10% lower than the high of this week". I also think that we'll be lower than the low of last week, but not for every stock. My bottom target for SMH has been 24~27.

As promised, the rally ended yesterday. Around 2pm I started initiating my short positions. I am now short 1500 XLNX and 5000 BRCM as well as other sundry stocks like KKD (that has been a tough one to time). At the open today I got rid of 1/3 of my long positions. Against all that I have learned, I bought some more GX at 2.65 and now have 9000 of them with cost of around 3. I am looking for an exit strategy to cover my HD short position which is acting unexpectedly strong. BTW, I am still long SCMR and AGR.a. Both have shown above market profits, but I am neither adding nor decreasing those positions.

good luck to all,
Sun Tzu

P.S. This is one of the nicest days in NYC. I wish I could tie up the lose ends and go for a bike ride.
