Guree, if there is an association between POG and CRB, as one imagines there should be, one could consider gold to be a commodity. That relationship is broken.

Furthermore, despite the protestations of the goldbugs, gold finds only a small use as a currency --- maybe in the East and also by some strange folks on the internet who don't trust credit cards, nowhere else. It use as a hedge has largely been taken by derivative instruments.

So, as result of its manifest disuse as a currency and its disassociation from the commodities it is clear gold is neither a currency or a commodity --- in fact, it is a thing on its own.

An anachronism!

In fact, as I have said many times before, its principal use is to provide a subject for old men to discuss on the internet!
