I think we are both saying the same thing.

I guess I misunderstood your original statement, so we can just agree to agree.

I use IB's TWS. It's a two click or two hot key process, or a combination. A click on the bid loads a limit sell, and a click on the offer loads a limit buy, if you have default set to limit. Or you can hit a hot key for limit buy or limit sell (or market buy or limit sell), then another click or hot key to transmit the order. You can send an order as fast as you can hit two keys. I tend to click to load and key to transmit. Once in a while you can get caught in a race condition where the inside market changes before your click gets to IB, and the limit price has moved a tick... very rare, but it can happen. I try to wait just long enough to see what gets loaded before I transmit, or more often pre-load and adjust price (another hot key) as the market moves so there are no surprises.
