John, I do think your calculations were too simple, though I also agree that the 5 days in and of themselves are just a "blip" in the overall for Time Warner. Don't forget that Time Warner owns TBS, TNT, the HBO family, as well. Also, you say that ABC and ESPN aren't pleading losses yet, but Disney has already said earnings will be impacted by the coverage. Also, if you search, say, Variety's site, you'll find a number of articles about just how much ESPN and other cable networks lost due to the world events.

Again, though, it's the fallout from this that keeps going on and on. The lack of promotion for series. The possibility of lower ratings and therefore less money for ads. Also, you and I both know that there are gonna be other days and nights coming up soon that will be commercial free. On a tangent, every studio in Hollywood added more security, and that won't be cheap or short term. The money spent on projects that are "no longer viable" is pretty substantial, though admittedly only a drop in the bucket for a conglomerate like AOL Time Warner. But it does all add up. I could go on and on, but I am pretty confident that the fallout from those 5 days is far more than just lost advertising money from that period of time. But again, we won't know for awhile.
