a good job of managing this renewable resource
If the trees are being renewed at the rate they are being used then there is no need for new roads in the forest or old growth logging. If they are not, then the world is not big enough to contain enough trees to supply an ever increasing demand. If we are going to retain any forest for the future we have to retain it now.

Moenmac:

I can't imagine life without cars. I do know that there is definitely a need for public transportation; however the oil/auto industries conspired to preclude them at least from the West Coast, especially California. I remember the first gas crisis and how folks were urged to take public transportation. Didn't work, though, as we just drove smaller cars that got better gas mileage.
There's a place here, Silver Falls, that has miles of stone steps following the routes of rivers and waterfalls. I hope the people who want to eliminate the nature trails aren't looking to take back places like that. I sure do appreciate your opinion and the knowledge you've shared.
I thought a hijab might be a martial arts move. What a great Scrabble word. Thank you,

Karen.
