Maybe it's a difference of age, but when I read that I thought of the FLQ, WMA and that Pierre Laporte should never be forgotten. The British diplomat James Cross was also a murder victim of those terrorists.

<<French in Quebec, terrorists in their own right>>
"I guess my wife and I have now been labeled as terrorists simply because we are French and live in Quebec. Ignorance is bliss... "

Yeah I wondered about this my self, will this war on terrorism take US Seals into France & Spain after the Basque separatists, the French Foreign Legion after the IRA, the British SAS after the Republic of Texas separatists? Exactly when the HELL will the text books of the UK be rewritten showing GW TJ BF SA and the rest of our founding fathers as other than Terrorists?

Hmmmm.. didn't say anything about you or your wife, but you have to admit that if chasing 500 thousand English speaking people out of Quebec by bombs, threats and harrassment is not terrorism then bin Laden is a Boy Scout. Since you didn't do anything about it by way of protest or vote, I would say that puts you in the category of the Taliban. The Quebec government has about as much regard for human rights and democracy as that group.

Bruce - it reminds me of the time when I lived and worked in Quebec in the early 70s. I was in the fund business at the time. We used to receive annual visits from our Vancouver Manager - he always enjoyed himself and was received kindly in the city. One time my wife and I visited Vancouver and took him out to dinner - and were astonished to hear him say that the French in Quebec spit in your face!
