I think the whole is the sum of the parts, plus some. It is one big fractal. MM's business reminds me of other times when certain businesses were experiencing new market dynamics. Remember how the phone companies were moaning about the Internet. "Oh, no! We're going to have our backs broken by Internet telephone. "

To me, that just speaks of bad business. If they were so worried about the state of telecommunications, they should have been OFFERING Internet phones as opposed to trying to stop them. As it was, another technology, cellular, offered a better way. I don't know anyone who uses Internet telephone. I played with Internet telephone programs but never used it for real. Two way conferencing is a better technology, IMO, but needed broadband. That is still in its early stage of deployment. My company is JUST offering DSL connections for employees. They are a year or so behind the times and it hurts them.
