If the desperately poor and disenfranchised of the world are shown achievable goals then they may not be as likely to blame the west for their ills, and will begin to look at their own shortcomings/missteps .>>>>>>>>>>>>

It is in the best interest of the fundamentalists that they continue to suppress outside influences such as television, phones, news papers or even as you said in an earlier post, electricity. This gives them control over the minds of their people and that is the only weapon they have. What a powerful weapon it is

Someone on this thread posted an opinion that the fundamentalists fully understand that their way of life is threatened by the free flow of information and the western world exemplifies that threat. They know they will not win the war because they cannot stop progress. So it is in desperation that they proclaim this war, all along knowing they fight a losing battle. I agree with this assessment, and believe we are witnessing the demise of an ancient way of life.

After the International coalition achieves it's goals, I believe that it would be in the best interest of mankind to assure that the people of the ME receive the means to communicate. Even a newspaper from reliable established sources other than one from some hopped up "leaders" idea of news, would be a major improvement. Access to reliable information is the right of every human on earth imo. That is the least we can do.

Personally I would go much further and make sure they have electricity, phones and computers. It would be a start.
