It's all so preposterous. I don't know why anyone would take the idea seriously. I can't see it having the slightest effect on the market. Also, the proposal was to take measures to "inhibit" short selling, but the headline says it's to "halt" short selling. In any case, I can't see why anyone would be concerned that the SEC is going to suspend short selling.

Let's go back to worrying about crop dusters and the like. Of course, terrorism is based on the psychology of fear.

analysed and congressman?? Do these two even go together?

Purely a public relations stunt -- his nephew or some interest is probably losing money on some longs. Maybe they were in something safe like insurance??
