> Have you ever thought about buying a condo in China?

Don't even think about it! Real estate in China has no resale value. My girlfriend's parents bought one in Shenzhen(across the border from Hongkong) a couple years ago. It's value has dropped more than their "flat" in Hongkong, since the property crash of '98. If you can believe that! They were bitchin' about it, last time we visited them in HK! Apparently China is trying to keep its growth rate by spending on public works(while its exports are flagging). Consequentially, they are building public housing to an extent that supply is outstripping demand...

>> Vic, the Chinese are going to attack us soon. <<

who can blame them with ignorant war-mongers like bill bennett and rush limbaugh making overtones or outright suggestions that we include china as one of the countries that are on the side of terrorists and against us.

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present.
The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion.
As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.
