Americans are not used to being extra careful...we are not used to constantly being aware of what is going on around us. we are not used to thinking about escape plans. our definition of supply is going to the grocery store. our soldiers are training daily to survive all of these threats. the government has pre-positioned a variety of survival supplies and escape transportation in Washington and the areas around it, for use by our leaders. there has to be a good reason for this new emphasis. should we not provide some minimal defensive escape plan for our own loved ones. i believe the threats are coming from so many different and believable directions, it is only prudent to take at least some minimal actions to protect ourselves and our families. i am suggesting once again... keep the following handy: some cash, the gas tank full, some non-perishable food, water and a means to make more water potable. winter is close, i am keeping sleeping bags handy. a firearm and ammo if you own one. the direction you choose to escape is critically important so be sure you have a map and know how to plot a basic fallout zone. today, i am moving our supplies from the house into easily transportable boxes in the garage...in the event of a catastrophe, it will take only a moment to load them in the truck. be prepared. the life you save may be your own. unclewest
