I also don't think boxmakers are too enthused about having to deal with AMD's new 'rating' system. If I were marketing director at GTW, CPQ, etc - I would loathe having to handle two competing products, when one of them could have the appearance of being a bad loser. WE all know that AMD isn't, and they have validity to their claim - but no doubt many will get that negative impression. The wild card being, how poor will AMD's new advertising campaign be?

Then you have to train sales staff to explain the situation, which would HAVE to include saying P4 was a lesser chip clock for clock - which management would NOT want them doing, since Intel is their primary provider. It ain't gonna happen. I'm not sure how boxmakers are going to handle the news AMD chips. When released, I'll be playing dumb and calling them telling me to explain just what the heck it means.
