<<Which immigrants will make the USA more pacific, do you suppose?>>

A mixture of all the races with no one of them having a majority. You know, just put an ethnic majority and start feeling 'superior'. Note that all warring nations went to war under a spurious belief they were 'superior': The Japanese and the Germans were just the last ones.

I like a multi-racial society like Brazil because no one can start telling it is 'superior' because there is enough people who disagree and the 'superiors' cannot stand the jokes the 'inferior' would be making about.

But in countries where there is an ethnic majority, pretty soon they control or have massive presence in the media. They control or have massive presence in entertainment, school. government and so on.

Then they start believing their own propaganda. That's why with enough amorphous immigrants they would be laughing if someone would like them to go kill people in some godforsaken place. Look the misfits this creates: McVeigh, Lee Harvey Oswald, all weirdoes that come back from the army and lost their perspectives.

Anyway, the native Americans -the Indians- would be replying: "It is already too late, Elmat!. The WASPS did enough damage already!"

<<US corporations are entertwined with corporations all over the world.>>

Yes agreed. The US wouldn't dare to mess with countries where their economy is tight-couple with the country in question. But that leaves a problem of cuntries that has no economic significance ( Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Iran and Cuba).

Coem on! Look the US policy towards Cuba. It is utmost ridiculous! The fight to keep or let a six-old boy go, it is the laughing stock of the world.

Sometimes I guess some US features are kept just to produce raw material for Jay Leno!

When I was in Saudi Arabia, I cleared customs joking with the Saudis checking my luggage.

I crossed check points and a queue formed and waited as I explain soccer to the policemen manning the place. They even didn't look to my Iqama.

They told me: "We Arabs like Brazil" I asked why. He said: "Brazil never goes to other countries maing trouble like the Europeans and the Americans."

Less than 10% of Americans are WASPs. In the 1990 census (I haven't seen that level of detail for the 2000 census) Around 30million people claimed English ancestry. Now many people claimed ancestry from more than one group and some English were Catholics. The biggest ethnic origin claimed was German at around 60 million. Germans certainly aren't Anglo-Saxons (though some may be Saxons :) ) and half of them are Catholic. WASPS have been over-represented in the elite (though several recent Presidents were Irish instead) but are not very representative of the American people.
