RENAULT LAUNCHING A PLUG-IN HYBRID (Source: Fleets & Fuels, 24 September 2001)

France's Renault is reported to be
planning to launch a hybrid-electric
version of its Kangoo minivan that
will have an all-electric mode and
can be plugged in for battery
charging. Renault's expected to
unveil the vehicle at EVS-18, the
world electric vehicles show in Berlin, Germany, October 21–24.

The French hybrid vehicle is expected to have a single-charge,
gasoline full-tank range of just over 150 miles, with 60 miles
available on batteries alone. Renault already markets gasoline, diesel
and LPG/propane versions of the Kangoo.
