<Also a combined CPQ/HWP would have huge pricing leverage over AMD. They will end up representing a very significant portion of AMD's business.>

I'm fully expecting more ASP erosion due to this.

<It's obvious that Gateway feels they don't lose much, if anything, in the way of sales or gross margin dollars by going all Intel.>

GTW was down to ONE AMD chip, anyway, before the total dismissal of AMD.

It's hard to imagine anyone here being excited about AMD's future. They have so very little going for them right now, and I don't see any light for the next year or two.

Dave

Well CPQ only is 10% of AMD biz and they are the largest buyer, what is HP's piece of the Pie? WhiteBox makers still are the bulk of AMD's sales.

RE:"when they had the upper hand one to two years ago, they should have been investing in building brand, end user demand. It's obvious that Gateway feels they don't lose much, if anything, in the way of sales or gross margin dollars by going all Intel. That means the consumer values Gateway's brand over AMD's brand."

You were right about Gateway going into OfficeMax being a failure before it was a failure. Look at what's happening to Gateway...
The have those stores...extra baggage.
They stop operations in several foreign countries.
There TV Ads have dropped off.
They drop AMD.

They are in big trouble...
They are trying to pull in the reigns but there is a real possibility they won't make it in time...
