I think most mutual fund managers are expecting outflows and have sold in advance of that. we shall have to see if that is what happens. on the other hand, my contacts tell me that the large brokerage firms have had large program buy trades from pension funds over the last week as such plans have been re-allocating consistent with their financial models. this is in the tens of billions. it is not in itself crucial but it shows that almost all quant models are simultaneously saying the spread is too wide and that long-term investors should reduce bonds and buy stocks.
