Now tell me. What did short sellers do in 2000 besides selling someone`s property at the top?

Short selling in fact has the effect of increasing any companies number of shares out standing.

This in fact requires that much more capital being used for each company that could have been used for other new companies to start up.

That is why you can`t short an IPO for a period of time. Because if short sellers could short every IPO it would be much harder for the IPO shares to be sold and for new companies to raise cash.

Short selling does nothing for the economy. All it does is transfer wealth from investors to traders.

Name one Tech. or medical break through that was done because of short selling.
