hi Mike,

actually, i was joking in my first message. but then i ended up giving a serious reply in my second one. i understand what you mean about minimizing risk as far as product adoption is concerned (as i stated in my message, and i know that was your context), but then i extended the discussion to a wider understanding of risk reduction. the juxtaposition of the two contexts was the basis for the joke.

by the way, i agree with you that there is validity to the GG focus on product adoption. but i think that is only the beginning of the discussion of whether something is a good investment at a given price.

Why rely on two sentences when one will do? Mucho responded to a truncated portion of your sentence,

That's because Gorilla Gamers use a process that minimizes risk...

which left out the qualifier,

...by waiting for the product adoption to show itself.

It was apparent that he was using that device to emphasize his oft repeated point that Gorillas can (and indeed have, in recent times) be over-valued. But since I am of the opinion that high rate of adoption and resistance to displacement are critical factors when selecting core positions, I am not dissuaded from my belief that Gorillas, in the strict sense that Dr. Moore has defined them, are superior to any other tech investment when considered for long term holding periods.

jmho,
