If the current rate of semi-equip orders persists till mid-2002, then we are setting up for a serious shortage once chip demand comes back (whenever that is; I'm 100% certain it will happen, and very uncertain about when).

Add to the equation China's desire to become a major player in IC's, and we have a possible spending binge the likes of which we didn't even see in 99-00.
