Perhaps. It appears that AG was more forthright in expressing his concerns about the economy in the closed session today with the Tax committee than he was in his televised session last Thursday.

Jacob, re >Government Intelligence agencies (oxymoron!)< Stereotyping at its finest. The FBI has a lot of 4-8 year old computers, as reported by MN yesterday. Replacing them with new ones will help the FBI do its job better.

I wonder if that means [$100 billion] in addition to what they've already done or promised

Apparently not.

"Mr Greenspan is worried that too large a fiscal shift could trouble bond market investors and cause long-term interest rates to rise. He suggested to senators in a closed-door meeting this week that they should keep total additional spending and tax cuts to about $100bn, of which almost $50bn has already been approved in emergency support for defence and the airline industry."
