I think that most Americans have good sense and will get behind a just war. We did in WWl,....

No, I don't believe this was the case with WWI. We were physically dragged into the conflict kicking and screaming like a stubborn child told to do something he/she wishes not to do!! Wilson wanted us to get involved but the bulk of the nation refused. It wasn't until our transatlantic shipping was being torpedoed (ie we were attacked) that our nation decided it was a "just war".

Dabum,
I believe that there are reasons to start buying into the market at this stage, not because I'm trying to pick a bottom but simply that I believe there is a risk/reward ratio that is starting to tilt in favor of risk. I may be in the minority here. For example, I didn't buy ITWO recently because it had fallen from 100 to 3 or because I thought I had picked the bottom, I bought it because I think that there is a reasonable risk/reward ratio to owning the stock at this point in time (and for all I know I could be very wrong here). Keep in mind that I have tried to voice my opinion that it's still time to be cautious but I believe that starting to dip one's toe in the water at this point in time could be profitable.
