I think they're considering it because they know that the Nasdaq Composite Index could easily fall below 1. Yes, the index is currently trading at 1500, but as many have stated time and time again on this thread, the economy is terrible, the outlook is even worse, and all the companies in the index are basically worthless. The Nasdaq doesn't want to face the embarrassing situation of having to delist itself.

Technology has had its day. There won't be much use for it in a recession. Investors have to realize this. I've heard that Bill Gates has been secretly converting the MSFT campus into a subsistence farm. Honestly. Dismiss this as an unfounded rumor if you like, but I happen to think it may very well be true. Today, a senior MSFT executive reportedly stumbled on a potato while trying to reach his office. Some low-level programmers have already been handed hoes and shovels.

Moving on to other sectors and other indexes, there won't be much use for oil, either. Again, people need to wake up and realize this. And airplanes? Who would fly now? Did you know that LAX is being converted into a train station? Cars? Consumers are staying at home. Many have put their SUV's on concrete blocks and moved into them. Insurance -- with rising premiums? Who could afford it?

Yes, things look BLEAK. They do indeed. USA Today says we're not sleeping at night. No wonder.
