Agreed. If our government is not careful they could be giving out money that will never be made back. I'm not saying that our economy will forever be in a recession or never make it back to the glory days of the late 90's but, if I have learned anything from trading stocks, anything is possible. The key is there is no one to bail out the government should it go bankrupt. Compared to when a company goes bankrupt the damage is spread out enough that the impact isn't unrepairable. Other businesses and such can take up the slack. If we don't draw a very clear line, one that may indeed not be fair to some, we could be asking for more trouble. And it seems that our government, currency, and economy is holding up the whole world. So our government and currency cannot falter.
