Our Foundry Services segment consists of fees for
services that we provide to Legerity and Vantis, our former PLD subsidiary.

Yet another profitable division AMD sold off to finance Jerry's Jehod against the great Satan Intel.

Steve,
Great post, yours I believe was the first to give any indication what the financial impact to AMD would be. What lost revs, ect.

For everyone else. I would not equate old fabs to being fat and obsolete. I worked at a fab of a major competitor up until we closed it last year and consolidated product to one 6" fab. We made product that put us at full loadings for a few select customers. The customers had us booked past 2004. Our process geometry was 1.0 and 1.5u. I used to joke with friends when reading the thread that if the stockholders only knew that we had a profitable 1.0 and 1.5u Fab.
Revenues and profits in this market aren’t fat. Look into the facts before jumping to conclusions.
