Judging from the thread's mood we are really getting close to a bottom in AMD (the DOW is a different story altogether).

You are underestimating the AMD's capacity to survive at this point. They can close FAB 25 with almost zero sacrifice in sales. That action alone will bring them close to a break-even point in the toughest market conditions. They have not even started to cut costs to the degree that others have done. The AMD hot-air-balloon is loosing altitude, but it has tons of ballast on board.
