There is talk of legislation that will

(a) reduce the qualifying period for long-term gains from 1 year to 6 months, and

(b) reduce the capital gains taxes to zero, on stocks that were purchased during a specified period.

See the connection? The insiders will be bailing out AND paying lower taxes as well. Who will be buying when the insiders are selling? That's right -- the bubblehead bagholders will be buying because of the "zero capital gains taxes" bait!

That is what they are using as an excuse not to buy? They didn't seem to mind what it looked like when they were selling millions of dollars worth of stock before it fell all the way down did they?

I don't agree. I've seen many companies over the years with CEO's who have bought hundreds of thousands of shares. They need to file a little form and not trade within the trading window.

Even Ask Jeeves doggie stock has been having many insiders buying.

If I follow your logic, then no insiders will be selling any more in case it might drop and they might look bad. A zebra doesn't change it's stripes into spots. Mark my words, even if they do no buying, they will be selling.
