Yes E,

That is good. and it spells out, IMO, what causes these problems in the last 50 years or so. The West and the developed East liked to do "social engineering" to solve a perceived problem of the moment to hold the line for their "interests"..But unfortunately, it often creates a vacuum and monsters like Noriega, OBL.. et al, seem to grow in a vacuum..

We also bomb Cambodia, creating a power vacuum so a despot moves in.. Pol Pot.. Idi Amin also comes to mind, but I am not quite sure who he belongs to..... And then somebody has to go get them, but before they are taken out a lot of grief is the "collateral damage" on both sides...Unfortunate to say the least.

Opportunists abound, Nasty ones, ready to move.. So that is why I am always reluctant to play the world chess game. Because the players playing the game, IMO, unfortunately are NO Bobby Fischers, based upon my observations. And they DO NOT seem to care about the pawns in the game..

Maybe we should just fold up the board, and let all play their own games, whether it is checkers, cricket, or soccer.. On that note:

Let's hear it for the all the "Soccer Moms" and "Cricket Moms" throughout the world.. I know one and she has more sense than all the Chess Players.. put together.. :)

Take care..m

Yes, you could feel the fury. I think Noam Chomsky has already shown that he has no shame (Cambodia) and very little left of whatever reputation he once had. I thought Hitchens made a good point about Saudi Arabian support for terrorists and their organizations. One of the problems of building an international alliance is the need to work with dubious regimes with doubtful aims.
