We definitely should had one of our objectives be a deposed Saddam Hussein if we wanted some long term resolution of the Iraq situation.

Of course.

There was a great deal of pressure from the left, and peace activists, you will remember, to stop the bombing and the pursuit to Baghdad. The spectacle of fleeing, frightened, defeated troops being torched and bombed as they ran was distressing to many citizens.

This country does bad things, but it doesn't seek, as a principle, to seek out innocents to kill.
