Children please!

Is this a time to call names and prattle on?

The primary focus of those surrounding the President, whoever that may be, in a time the country is under attack is to protect the President. The Office of the President is the closest thing we have in America to a figure head or nobility. It is not a question of whether the person is Brave heart or a prima dona - he must be protected along with the Congress as the seat of power and order.

Besides, America is at war now. Even more important than placing blame for what coulda, shoulda, woulda been done differently we all need to pull together and focus on what is next and how we can re-create this country in a brighter, saner and safer image. I don't know about you guys but I don't much like the fact that there are dedicated and well organized forces in this world who have proven very capable of taking advantage of our silly weakness.

I think it's about time we do some growing up.

Windsock Re..Really, really sad. When faced with the fact the your boy Bush is a coward you can only stoop to name calling.<<<<<<<<<

Who said GW was a coward. You? Cheney said on Meet the Press Sunday that while GW wanted to come back to Wash. immediately, he advised him to stay put until things died down as all of washington, the white house and congress was in bunkers. Do you have a link to prove Dick was lying? When asked if there was a threat to Air Force One, Dick said he didn't know; they were looking into it.

I am not suggesting that the Bush crowd are liars, just that they have a very weak regard for telling the truth. You would be wise to remain skeptical when they deliver their propaganda.<<<<<<<<

This coming fram a guy who thinks Bill and Gary were great. Get real. The polls show 90% of americans think GW is handling the situation very well; as opposed to 5% who think Bill did the right thing when he blew up the tents last yr.

Sources say White House staffers apparently misunderstood comments made by their security detail. <<<<<<<<<<

Since when is a misunderstanding considered lying?

What really sad is after this terrible attack upon America, all you can do is resort to character assasination buy innunendo. Gw was in a bunker because the secret sevice demanded it. Its a crying shame that recently, 50% of the presidents in office have been attacked, even with their extensive security detail; and all you democrats can do is make sad jokes about it.

There seems to be an answer to how someone, presumed to be a terrorist, was able to call in a threat against Air Force One using a secret code name for the president's plane on the day of the attacks. As it turns out, that simply never happened. Sources say White House staffers apparently misunderstood comments made by their security detail.

Windsock, recanting seems to be a popular past time with Bush White House staffers. Wasn't it they who claimed Clinton's people seriously trashed the WH when they left only to embarrassingly admit later that that was a lie?

I don't know how that can be because D.Ray has consistently said Reps. are the most honest of those on this earth.......probably a genetic defect of some sort.

I stand by my statement. Either Dick Cheney or you is lying.

Without regard for what threats there were or were not, it would have been totally inappropriate for Bush to return to DC under the circumstances. While he apparently desired to do so, the President has an obligation to put the country first and make certain appropriate security procedures are observed.

Your argument is plain stupid -- to suggest that Bush should have return to DC for political reasons in the midst of the attack, not knowing the details of its source or extent, is absurd.

No thinking person would even suggest such a thing.

As to the link you provided, please keep in mind that Dan Rather and CBS have absolutely zero credibility and anyone who would take their news from CBS is getting sucked in by the worst propaganda machine in the nation.
